One day in October
Late Saturday morning, about 11 am, the lights were fuzzy, woke up alone on a weird phone call from an old friend who just arrived Alexandria and wants to meet, had to go then to the bathroom but felt very sleepy, over the tub slowly my mind got cleared, very strange to get clear minded over a tub while looking to yourself in the mirror, one of many ways to face yourself, strange thoughts about things I’ve been holding for sometime now, things that should be done, some personnel blame ended with a good luck wish in the beginning of my new day and the end of my wake up process.
Had to go work although it is my week-end, maintenance guys were coming from Cairo and usually my work is preferred done in none working hours, cool traffic which brought a thought of getting them breakfast to break the ice, it worked they liked Abou Rabie’s beans and falafel sandwiches and finished our tasks as quickly as possible, still had some time to google news and check my web territories, went then directly to meet my old friend, on the sea we had a long talk about going things and how they changed in the last period, some fresh memories, some old ones, we sure laughed from our hearts, usually I enjoy such long conversations very much but this one was special, shared a meal in Hardees and then went another time to stay by the sea, finally it was getting near 10 pm so I had to go bring wife and child from parents house, while waiting for them to get prepared I shared my father in law a small but interesting conversation about local news and politics over a cup of “Kharoub”.
It is one of the greatest things in the end of a day when you get into your home sweet home with your little family to relax and prepare for a new tomorrow, meeting the guys you really missed all day long, talking about what happened through your day, sharing comic comments, playing with the baby, get blessed with his laughs and smiles, sharing a movie before sleeping, warm hugs, good night kisses and a little peace of mind while closing your eyes for the sleep.
