Wonder how the family is taking the news considering they seem to be particularly religious.
  • Huma Abedin was born in Michigan to a Pakistani mother and an Indian father and was raised in Saudi Arabia. Her mother, Saleha M. Abedin is the Vice-Dean of Academic Affairs and a founding member of Dar Al-Hekma College, one of the first private colleges for women in Saudi Arabia. Abedin has taught in graduate and undergraduate programs at universities and colleges throughout the world. Huma’s brother, Hassan Abedin is a fellow at Oxford Center for Islamic Studies (OCIS). Her late father, Syed Zain ul Abedin founded Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs, wherein both Huma’s mother and brother participate.
